[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he maiden edition of the LiveMarket event was focused on “Photography”, it was held on Sunday, 27th August 2017. I spoke to a few organizers of the event, and it appears that they were testing the waters. I would say that for a first edition, the turnout was really good, there were over 500 visitors and about 40 exhibitors.
Presently, the idea is to grow a lifestyle community, and to create a good hangout space where buying and selling can take place. They plan to host the event once a month, and the next edition will hold sometime between September and October, which will focus on “Fashion”.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”17374″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]At the just concluded edition, the exhibitor with the best picture was awarded a cash price of ₦100,000 and a camera from Fujifilm. You can tell from the thrilling smile on his face that he was happy! His friends were equally excited for him. He was chosen as the winner by Sola Animashaun. It was a fun event, with several food vendors like; 01 shawarma, Neo Cafe, Abees Cocktail & Chops, Cocktails by Enliven, Adyva Foods, Bonjour Bakery, Phurah Bookcafe, and other vendors like House of Tara & Autograph Beauty were present at the event also.
Below is a video that shows you all you need to know about how the event went. Enjoy!
Here’s my short review:
Parking:
The parking space has the capacity to accommodate 150 cars at the minimum, so there wasn’t any parking issues that I noticed.
Environment:
The environment was neat with nice aesthetics, and loud music, there was hardly any dull moments. Although, I think it rained earlier in the day, so the field area was a bit muddy which got my heels all messed up. I had to stand aside at some point, watching people without heels walk freely on the field. Oh well! Next time, I’ll come prepared.
Logistics:
In my opinion, I think it was well planned- there were strong security measures in place, and there was good crowd control with all the “ushers” designated to appropriate places. However, from the video, as people said, there needs to be more publicity for wider coverage, and the registration process for both exhibitors and visitors could be better.
Food:
The food was the way food should be! Especially with the high profiled food vendors that were invited.
Location:
It was easy locating the venue, especially for those I invited. It was made easy with the banners kept on the streets, which was used as a reference point in Gbagada for those coming for the event.
Here are a few pictures from the event also, if your friend’s pictures appear here, let them know please. Do not forget guys, the next LiveMarket event will hold soon, start telling your fashion designer friends and fashion enthusiast to get ready, because this edition is for them!
