As you may know, Nigeria Travel week ended in November and the last day of the event filled week was a travel hangout at La Campagne Tropicana. If you are interested in knowing what other events took place at Nigeria Travel Week, click HERE.

About two weeks ago, I took to my Instagram to ask what you might be interested in knowing about this resort and that is what this article would be covering.

A little Story of a Beach resort in Lagos: La Campagne Tropicana

Upon arrival at the resort, you would be greeted with a Yoruba word on a wooden gate saying Ëkaabo, meaning “welcome”. This was the first hint of culture at the resort and I immediately felt in love. After parking our car at the car park we were directed to the reception where we were then given the Nigeria Travel Week tag to gain access to the facility.

Upon entering the wooden gate, we got a special “free”ride in a car that looks like a Toyota Corolla from the gate to the beach area. Fam, this was first class treatment that I did not pay for. I found that absolutely impressive.

This resort is arguably one of the best in Nigeria because its richness in culture, the beautiful and well maintained facility, and the top notch service you get from the staff at the resort.

Beach Activities:

Let’s talk about the beach-side and the activities present. The first thing to point out about the beach area is that I could hardly decide whether the carpet grass was real or man made. It was super beautiful, smooth and clean. In-fact any picture you take at this area automatically become beautiful. You can quote me on that. Here are a few other activities you can enjoy at the beach resort (Some are to be paid for differently):

  • Kayaking
  • Boat Cruise
  • Jet Skiing
  • Sack Race
  • Volley ball
  • Egg Spoon
  • Tug of War
  • Aerobic
  • Swimming
  • Football
  • Water Volleyball
  • Table game (Scrabble, Chess, Monopoly)
  • Snooker
  • Table Tennis
  • Canoe ride
  • Basketball
  • Badminton
  • Horseback ride

Rooms La Campagne Tropicana

First thing to note is that all the infrastructures at the resort is beautiful and consciously designed with cultural artifact, which promotes the Yoruba Culture. You would see most of this clearly in my YOUTUBE VIDEO.

Above is one of the chalets at the resorts made of mud. It is said to be the only mud house in West Africa with a Pool in it. The rooms were cold without the air conditioners being on.

In the same building is a dining table made out of living trees. Oh, don’t worry, I asked the same questions about insects and the rest. The trees are been treated regularly to avoid such growth. If you look closly at the picture, you would see that the window blinds are made of Adire (a clothing material popular in the Yoruba Tribe in Nigeria).

More pictures of the rooms in the resorts.

Do I think there is anything that needs to be improved at the resort? Yes. The reception area seemed to be hot they day I went, I am not sure if it is always that way, but if it is, that needs to be improved to help guest have a better welcome to the facility.

Let me know if there is any other questions you would like answered about this resort. Happy Holidays fam!
