5 ways to achieve those 2017 GOALS (Part 1)

5 ways to achieve those 2017 GOALS (Part 1)

GOALS

Lovelies, the first quarter of the year is over, and the second quarter is slowly coming to an end, it’s time to pick out our 2017 goals and review them, to see how far we are moving with them.

I found out that; only around 8% of people actually achieve their resolutions each year. And, only around 75% of those who set goals follow through with them after the first week of the year. 25% of people already stop working towards their goals after just the first week! (Michelle, www.makingsenseofcents.com)

While reviewing mine, I found out that I’m lacking behind in some aspect, while I have actually made progress in some others and this part makes me happy.

So the question is how do we keep running with those goals? How do we get back the drive we had at the beginning of the year? What should we do better?

Don’t ask me, lol, I’m also on the journey of discovery, if it were left to me, I’d say;

  • Pray more
  • Read books

The first post I had on this site was titled “2017 goals”, in it, I stated how to break down goals into different areas of our lives (financial goals, business goals, relationship goals).

I also have to confess that one of the things I have been struggling with is setting a short term goal for myself in some areas depending on what area the long term goal is, I just find it difficult to break it down. I find it difficult to itemize the processes or steps I need to take to achieve a long term goal in a particular area.

Luckily for me, I saw an article that is presently helping me in that area, and I suggest you go through it also, the writer included different articles to read, and he also shares insightful ways to keep up with the goals being set.

Below are 5 steps I got from his write up to help achieve the goals we set;

  • Create a vision board and keep it somewhere that you will see on a daily basis
  • Put post-its around your home that list your yearly goals.
  • Place reminders on your phone, calendar, etc.
  • One great way to stay on track with your goals for 2017 is to turn your goal setting into a competition between you and someone else.
  • Break your goals apart into smaller goals. For example. If your goal is to become a fashion designer in one year, your monthly goals may be something such as:

January – Think of a fashion idea and a name.

February – Start a fashion school.

March – Create an editorial calendar.

April – Finish fashion school.

May – Buy your sewing materials

June – Find ways to build your brand.

July – Attend  fashion shows.

August – Advertise your brand on 5 different platforms.

September – Grow your network to 500 fashion specialist.

October – Reach 1,000,000 in income.

November – Grow a social media account to 3000

December – Become a fashion designer!

The little bit I’ll add, is to CREATE A PLAN WHERE YOU MAKE PROGRESS EVERYDAY, track your performance and celebrate your small successes (this is something I should work on, because I usually don’t).

P. S.: It’s my Birthday this week, and I’m quite excited! I’d be sharing a part of my story in celebration with you all this week…. 🙂

I hope you get inspired and take action!
